John received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Bridgeport,Ct. .
He went on to earn a Master of Science in Design from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, where he was recipient of a Maholy-Nagy Scholarship.
John has received numerous international and national awards for design excellence. American Institute of Graphic Arts, Chicago, New York, New Jersey and Boston Art Directors Clubs, Communication Arts, Society of Typographic Arts, plus Andy and Hatch awards. He was selected by Idea Magazine as one of the most important Graphic Designers.

John has over forty years of professional experience in the field of visual communications as a designer, art director, director of design, for Corning, IBM, Polaroid and Department Chair, Miami International University and Tenured Professor Syracuse University (Retired). He has designed projects for many of the Fortune 500. John has traveled extensively as part of his teaching and professional responsibilities to Cuba; Bauhaus in Berlin; Beijing, China; and Europe.
